Annual Spastic clean and furniture rearranging.

So ever since my sister moved out and went to live and work in London with her boyfriend I've had the room (well the whole flat) to myself. And one of the first things I did was completely destroy the room tearing it apart storing my sisters belongings into big plastic boxes and dragging my dollhouse into my room. So last year it looked like this.
Which worked out fine cause originally the shelf in the corner was disassembled from the study table it was connected to. Where the doll house is used to be a very heavy industrial sewing machine (which I dragged outside to the living room on my own thank you very much). And the used to be bunk bed is now just a double with the mattress and bars lying underneath my bed.
Probably a year later this is what became of my room...

Scary isn't it. Looks like a preview to next weeks episode of hoarders. So after the last 6 weeks or so of ' I need to clean my room'. I came home after work on Saturday and went hardout. Got rid of all the crap that I didn't need. Filed all my paper work, clothes put away. And suddenly *bam* the idea hit me. Rearrange the furniture around! Like cleaning the room wasn't already a mission and a half.
So cleaning, cleaning, cleaning. I even cleaned my window sill and my windows! Yep, spastic cleaning indeed. The end result..

And gosh does it feel nice to have open space in front of my door! So now that I have an area of my room exposed my ugly wall is also exposed. The wall is water damaged so the pain kinda went bubbly and dried like that so theres just dry bubbles and some cracking paint.
So thats where operation black board and sofa(?) came in. First things first. Sofa? too big and heavy, whats the next best thing. BEAN BAG SOFA!!!! So googled some, prices 100+ 200+ ehh...
D.I.Y!  why? cause I can.

So out I go buy fabric, bag of beans, sew sew sew. And no I don't have a car; which means, yes I carried 2 x 100L bags of bean bag refills on the bus. OH MY GOD! Disaster. One bag is already bigger than me. Imagine TWO!
But in the end I did get home... some how.

2 Hours later, done! Not a worry. Now I just need to get cracking on that wall.

flowers! ; a bit of something different

Hey, back again. So within the last months (after mother's day) two of our excellent European florists; one had gone on holiday for a month and the other, my trainer left Australia to go back home to start a new. So my point, because of shortage of 'senior' florists I had to step up and take a few of their places in the workplace. So here is some of my 'not-so-ordinary' bouquet works.
Couldn't resist but to finish off with a rose posy with ivy and berzillia berry.

Welcome to the real world!

Another announcement! I am officially a god mother.
My friend had given birth to her little bubba on the 17th of May!

Little Emily is soooo cute and tiny. At 5lbs!!

yes, I do have a habit of comparing things to my fist. I have another photo with an oyster the same size as my fist hahahhaa.

Flowers flowers and more flowers!

And for the flower segment. We are well into autumn now, just days away from winter technically speaking. And oh am I loving it!

Speaking of autumn, while working at one of the shops I did get a chance to make an autumn stlyed wedding bouquet. One of those customers who decide to call up on a Sunday and its a bit like 'Oh I need a wedding bouquet for tomorrow, but I don't want this this this and want only this'. Yeah.. buddy, not gonna happen. But in the end we did end up negotiating for an autumned styled bouquet. Well.. on a Sunday you are kind of stuck with the flowers you have in the shop at the time. But seeing as the guy who called up wanted an all red bouquet and absolutely no roses.. hmmmm.....

So the next morning, he came to pick up this. I was told that he was very pleased with the bouquet and said it was perfect. NOTE: it was JUST for a photoshoot.
And I kinda quessed, you know trendy, out of the norm kinda stuff you would see in the magazines. (obvisouly not pretty frilly magazines. But more style, fashion mags.

And here is Miss 'Stellar'. On of our catalogue products which has been kept from mother's day. Honestly none of them are true to what is displayed on the website flower wise. But a florist works with what she or hes got!

And last but not least. A trio of vases put together with what I could find in the shop. Each vase with a colour and texture of their own.

Not dead yet!

I'm baaacckkkk!
I've been lazy to post up anything lately since winters a coming and thats my call'n to hibernate whenever possible.
BUT~ I have still been baking and flowering as I normally do... just blogger was being a richard and didn't let me sign in. So basically I'll do two separate posts one for food and one for flowers. Flowers and food. Perfect combination!

So last week on a Mondy, yes I said Mondy. I went out to one of the new cafes in the new Westfields on Pitt street. Before I went, I looked up the place up, Le Pain Quotidien. Although being very stereotypical, I assumed anything with 'le' in the beginning was french. But coming there and ordering, they did have alot of belgian, and austrian breads and bakes. Which kind of took me off guard.
Aside from the true origins of this cafe. The food there was actually very nice, well presented and coffee was lovelovelovelovelovelovel<3ve!
After going to such a bread-y cafe I was in a bread baking mood. So I went to seek a scroll/bun kind of recipe. Couldn't remeber which site I got the recipe from, but I have screen shots of the recipe on my phone.
I basically took the recipe and ended up rolling scrolls out of them. And as a second test, buns filled with cheese and bacon.

Mothers Day recap

Hiya, survived the mother's day period. 'N I'm back with some photos from the spastic week that I had at work. I wish I could've taken more photos during the week, but it was waaaayyy too busy and hectic for me to stop . But will have to make do with what photos I did manage to sneak, hehe.
Just under a thousand orders went out this year for mother's day, so we did better than last year. So good job team!

6AM starts, 9PM finishes. Can't say that it was like having a scone and cuppa tea. But I am very glad that its over and done with. And by the end of the week lets just say that I looked and felt a bit like(and pardon my french) shit.
